I just did a fresh install of MySQL with Homebrew, when I start it, it says:

%> /usr/local/homebrew/bin/mysqld
dyld: lazy symbol binding failed: Symbol not found: _clock_gettime
  Referenced from: /usr/local/homebrew/bin/mysqld
  Expected in: /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib

dyld: Symbol not found: _clock_gettime
  Referenced from: /usr/local/homebrew/bin/mysqld
  Expected in: /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib

Trace/BPT trap: 5

Any ideas?

  • Which version of the OS are you running? What do you get if you run brew doctor? Commented Sep 23, 2016 at 23:25

I don't think it matters because the symbol doesn't exist where mysql expects it to:
