I've had this happen in two scenarios - a) with finder and opening things from the terminal before (e.g. trying to open a file with it's associated application).. For me a quick reboot always resolves it; AND b) when I am doing something with a different user to the user logged in on the UI - and in this case running the thing as the UI user solves it.
Don't forget the Search option - which lets you see all the places for things (so that feature you lost - like don't sleep when no display is connected, you can find in it's new sub-section...)
Are you asking about using the MBP bootcamp partition on the Lenovo? Or just getting files from it. The former seems like it might be problematic (due to lack of right drivers / and other configuration in Windows for the Lenovo)
Perhaps you can find the device used from a teardown - like this one (ifixit.com/Teardown/iPad+Pro+11-Inch+Teardown/115457) which identifies the specific flash device - Toshiba TSB3247M61710TWNA1 flash storage (64 GB total) - and presumably somewhere you'll find it's specs - which is going to be an upper bound on what the performance could be ...
Hi @zeeple - if you aren't sure what values change - you do a read before making the change to work out the "pre-making change" values, and a read after to see what's changed - you then know the values to put in a script in a defaults write (know might be a bit strong - you have an idea of what might work).
I just pulled out a ventura machine and that sets comfortSoundsEnabled AND lastEnablementTimestamp .. And I noticed a reddit that says launchctl kill SIGHUP gui/501/com.apple.accessibility.heard. That worked for me - if you confirm - I'll create an answer.
Hi @zeeple - perhaps use defaults read com.apple.AppleMultitouchTrackpad before turning on tap to click, then turn it on and see the difference after running again?
Do you get ComfortSounds in the list from launchctl list when it is running ? If so may be able to do launchctl unload com.appple.ComfortSounds to stop it and ...load.. to start it...
