An application provided with the original iPhone, and made available on the Mac in Mac OS 10.8 Mountain Lion. Used to record text notes, and can be synced using iCloud or other services.

Is there a way to save notes to the iPhone itself and not to any account for syncing?
In iOS 10, all you have to do is go to
Go to Settings > Notes
Toggle "On My iPhone Account" to on (for me this was the last option).
