HELP! Script to copy only Rich URL for pasting into Pages?

I'm looking for a layman's explanation for how to create an Applescript or something tied to a shortcut... that will let me copy only the rich URL (title page text as a hotlink) so I can paste that into a Pages doc.

Reason being, you used to be able to drag the URL from Safari into Pages and it would appear as instantly linked, descriptive text. With Pages '09, that changed to only dragging in HTML-speak. And now, the only way to create hot-linked text is a multi-step process using selecting, drop-down menus, and pasting. I hate it.

I regularly write long documents that use these rich URL links as embedded citations for our legal review team.

Ten years on, I have to get used to the idea that Apple won't fix this (strangely, it still works correctly in Mail). Instead, maybe there's an Applescript solution? One where I could copy from the URL window and have the descriptive text automatically assigned, and then could paste to the Pages doc?

What do you guys think?
