Dec 20, 2017 at 18:37 | comment | added | DimaSan | @Allan nope unfortunately this doesn't work as well. This command actually do the same as checking the "External Drives" checkbox in the Finder preferences.

You're not seeing it on your Desktop either? Make sure you issue the following command: defaults write com.apple.finder ShowExternalHardDrivesOnDesktop —bool true

Dec 17, 2017 at 14:52 | comment | added | DimaSan | I removed the broken alias, but unfortunately it doesn't appear again on the slide bar after remounting. I can only see this drive in Disk Utility and Terminal.
Dec 17, 2017 at 14:30 | comment | added | Allan | It's an alias issue. Try removing that alias from the side bar (eject the drive as well) then remount it.
Dec 17, 2017 at 14:29 | comment | added | DimaSan | Wow, it really shows the files on this drive! So the problem is probably with Finder?

Dec 17, 2017 at 13:50 | comment | added | DimaSan | I'm trying to read the data stored on this drive or at least to see the filesystem tree.
Dec 17, 2017 at 13:48 | comment | added | Allan | Are you attempting to access/save/recover data stored on the drive or do you just want to access the drive?
