Should I be using Apache? My impression from the Hadoop tutorial (hadoop.apache.org/docs/current/hadoop-project-dist/…) is that it should work out of the box without any server setup.

Except I've had the reader installed this whole time, and no it doesn't work because I just tried it. Cmd-F still brings up both search boxes, and Safari's search box gets the focus by default.

Also, my version of Safari didn't appear to have a built-in reader. When I got my computer, download+Preview was the default behavior. So I installed the Adobe reader plugin.

Just tested, the instructions you posted don't fix the problem (and I also kind of like the default Ask behavior).

This is perfect. Ironically I had previously found and used the app version of iStat Pro, but it was only a 14-day trial. I somehow missed the widget version.

My post contained neither speculation nor pontification. I was legitimately surprised not to see free temperature and guitar tuner apps and was wondering what the reason was. My off-hand remark about melting the laptop comes from personal experience with heat damage.
