It is not a rumor - it has been officially announced by Apple that iTunes is going away. It is going to be replaced by Apple Music, Apple TV and Apple Podcasts in the next release of macOS named Catalina.
In practice you'll just start using the Apple Music program for listening to your old ripped CDs instead of using iTunes - so this is definitely not a ...
It's a known bug since the release of macOS 10.14.5.
The blank window that shows up when you try to add an item to your library is actually supposed to contain new terms of service that you have to agree to, but it's bugged on macOS and just displays an empty page instead.
The only solution right now seems to be to go to Apple Music on any of your iOS ...

CDA files are not song files, it's just a shortcut.
It doesn't contain any song information, so you can't convert it to other formats.
You need to import cd into a usable format using iTunes on the computer that owns the disc drive.
Note that macOS sees them as "exec" files just because it does not recognize the file type and does not know what ...
In the past I was able to use iOS devices as USB drives.
You appear to be mistaken. This has never been possible without third-party software and/or jailbreaking.
It was possible to use older iPods in "disk mode" as storage devices. However, this feature was never available for the iPod Touch, nor for any version of the iPhone.
Some iOS applications ...

It’s in Files as of today. Just tested exporting a zip file from lumafusion for iTunes file sharing and when I go to Finder on my Mac, click on iPad, then files option, then lumafusion app...I can see the zip file. But I was only able to delete it. I could not copy it to my machine, might be a bug in the current beta. I have iPadOS and Mac OS Catalina most ...
I used to have this issue in the past before, and for me the cause was faulty lightning cables. Make sure you're using genuine cables from Apple and not third-party ones. This might not be the same solution for you but try it out and I hope it helps!
now that there are rumors that iTunes will be discontinued, is this a dead-end?
No, it's not a dead-end. There will ALWAYS be a way to play your own music files ripped from CD.
If not in an app called "iTunes", then in Apple Music, or a 3rd party application such as Winamp.
Continue ripping your CDs and collecting (and backing up!) the .mp3 or .m4a files. ...
I'm on Catalina and it is now 2019. I was having Apple Music open every time I connected my bluetooth earbuds (Echo Buds). Since I never use Apple Music this worked for me:

Click the lock to prevent further changes
Select View | As Songs to display the library as a list of tracks (i.e. not organised by album). This is the key part.
Then hold the Control key and select the songs to be converted by clicking each one.
Lastly, select File | Convert | Create MP3 Version.
Before doing the above, make sure that the sound encoder is set to MP3 under Edit | ...

Yes, it is possible but requires a bit of copy/paste work.
Select the radio stream in iTunes on desktop.
Select the Edit menu, choose the Song Info entry (or just press Command + I). This will show you the location URL of the stream. For example, the first stream in the 80s Flashback section is A_A 80s with the URL of http://listen.shoutcast.com/a-...
FaceID and TouchID are stored locally only on the device in a Security Enclave and never sent across the network.

AFAIR there never was an official way to access data on an iPhone/iPad from macOS through Finder. It may be possible with a jailbroken device, but that's for somebody else to provide an answer on that.
There are various other ways to transfer data between iOS and macOS though:
use iCloud drive on both and store documents there
AirDrop (which, if it works, ...
Astonishingly the error had nothing to do with the "song not being available in my country or region," but simply was because the song had not yet loaded into the iCloud Music Library. I clicked on File, Library, Update iCloud Music Library, and after about 5 minutes, the song was available on my other devices.
