To download the last compatible version of an app, the app must be in your purchase history for that Apple ID already. Use iTunes 12.6.3 to download the app, signing in with your new Apple ID. Once the app is in your purchase history, attempting to download it again on your device should prompt you to accept an older version of the app.
The premise that components are the primary cost to bring a product to market doesn't hold much water for any iOS device.
The most astute quip I have seen was by Horace Dediu on twitter as @asymco:
The iPhone is a salesman hired by the operator to sell mobile broadband service.
He gets a healthy commission because he's very good at it.
I wouldn't confuse ...
The differences aside from design, size, glass back cover and weight is that the iPod touch has:
No cellular data
No GPS, cell tower, or other non-WiFi Location data
The iPod touch is not available with a 16Gb HD, only 8, 32, or 64.
No Digital Compass
Display is not fingerprint resistant
Video is 720p on iPod and 1080p on iPhone
Still photos are .6 ...
GPS uses satellites to triangulate your position with great accuracy, however there are other ways to get a fix provided you can triangulate via other means. Apple uses a database of WIFI networks with known locations to help ascertain your location in some instances (i.e. if you can see WIFI networks A B and E, then you must be approximately located at Z ...
The easiest way to go about this without jailbreaking is to use some custom wallpaper.
Make a new document in Photoshop, Pixelmator, GIMP, or your editor of choice.
Find a high-resolution image on the Web that you like and copy it into the document. Crop it to 640 x 960 pixels.
Add some text with your personal info over the image. Make sure that you leave ...
You can't change this behavior. Although, when you download a free app, you have to enter your password; if you download another free app immediately after, you won't have to re-enter your pass. That's as close as you're going to get to a remember password feature on iOS 5.
This is something that was intentionally in place and now it's intentionally ...
You should at least see a FaceTime icon in Settings:
If you don't, FaceTime may not available in your country. According to Wikipedia and Apple these countries don't support FaceTime:
United Arab Emirates
If that's not your case, please check this document. It explains what to do to troubleshoot a missing FaceTime app. This is the ...
You need to select that you don't want a payment option on your account.

If you would like your your iPod to tell you your battery level as a percentage go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Triple-click Home, and select "Toggle VoiceOver". After you are done, go to your home screen and triple click the home button. VoiceOver will activate. Then tap the battery icon. VoiceOver will say the battery percentage aloud. ...
Purchasing from one account and then using another for in-app purchase (IAP) isn't currently possible.
Since each application is digitally signed when you download it from the App Store - you are tied to using the same account for in-app purchases as for the initial purchase.
If it is a free app, you could back up the device to iCloud, delete the app, re-...
I know of no device that is sold to act as a write block that also allow full 1A charging, but Apple's patent covering potential upcoming changes to the dock connector might help you if you wanted a DIY hardware solution for the older 30 pin USB connectors.
In the mean time, you have several ways to secure the data without needing a custom piece of ...
gentmatt's answer is correct, however if you don't need to make phone calls at all you can also just turn on airplane mode. I have done this many times abroad. Turn on airplane mode in settings, then turn wifi back on. Your cellular signal stays off.
It looks like a Hardware problem with the mini Jack. Apparently one of rings is not connecting properly, as if it was not fully plugged in. Make sure it is, try moving the mini Jack in circles and rotating, and see if that makes any difference.
Apple uses WiFi hotspots (and presumably the corresponding signal strength) to triangulate your position using a data from Apple. Similar to how Google maps a hotspot using their StreetView cars, a 3rd party at one time scanned the area you travelled to and mapped the SSID and probably MAC address of the local hotspots.
Though I don't know if they still do,...
You do have a 5th Generation iPod touch, and it's the 16GB model.
If you check out Apple's website for current-generation iPod touches, specifically the "tech specs" page, you'll see that there are two types available today. The left one (the one with no metal circle on the bottom-left of the back) is the one you have.
On your Usage page, you have two ...
From Apple's website: "Apple Watch works with iPhone 5 or later running the latest version of iOS, which introduces the Apple Watch app. So make sure everything is up to date"
Note: While it does say "Requires iPhone 5 or later." in the footnotes at the very bottom of the http://www.apple.com/watch/technology/ mentioned by Matthieu Riegler, nonetheless it's ...
You can find Marco Arment's stats on iOS version he collected from his Instapaper app (as CanuckSkier say in the comment, Instapaper is generally used by tech-savvy people, so "real"-people usage might be slightly less).
Here's a graph:
As you can see, at least 98% of users are already on iOS 4.0 and 96% on 4.2. So I guess you can safely stop supporting ...
I use iTunes 10 in Windows 7.

Something conductive and either soft or flat will register with the capacitive touch screen sensors. A ball of conductive foam or wadded up aluminum foil, or even a half inch strip of the metallic insides of a power bar wrapper.
There are several manufacturers of iPhone stylus's that use variations of the above. You can google them.
Non-conductive stuff ...
According to the incredibly useful iOS support matrix v 2.0 (Winter 2012) done by Empirical Magic, the end of the line is running iOS 4.2.1 on an iPod touch (2nd generation).
Apps that target 4.3 or newer are just not going to run on that device unless the developers re-add support for that OS. Since the code set for that device is ARMv6 you can expect ...
The most simple answer probably is because the developer decided accordingly. There might be several more specific reasons, the most relevant is probably that some games just need a bigger screen and/or it's too cumbersome to maintain two GUI versions in parallel.
They are referring to the "Purchased" under the "Quick Links" section on the right of the iTunes Store Home Page. Once you do this "Songs of Innocence" will be added to your "Purchased" playlist on the left.
Night shift isn't supported on your hardware. See the footnote 1:
Night Shift is available on iPhone 5s or later, iPad Pro, iPad Air or later, iPad mini 2 or later, and iPod touch (6th generation)
If you use something akin to a Zoom Energy Bar you should be able to connect the mini USB at the charging station to charge the energy bar, then connect your device to the USB port. It should maintain the charge on the energy bar battery and charge the device(s) on the other end.
Added benefit of having a portable battery with you to charge various and ...
