What am I missing when rsync copies only my files, but does not create the directory that co...
My command on macOS is:
rsync -rav mydir/ /Volumes/usb1/
My expection was that due to the slash at the end of mydir/, rsync would create a directory Volumes/usb1/mydir, and copy the directory tree below … I've installed rsync 3.2.7 which isn't the default for my MacOS.
What did I do wrong? …

I'm in the process of porting scripts which use rsync to MacOS 10.15.7. … On Linux, I would use the option --info=del, but on the Mac version of rsync, --info does not exist, as we can see in the man-page. …
