How can I hide the privacy tab from Spotlight.prefpane?
This will keep them from appearing in Spotlight results without calling attention to them in the Privacy pane, and without requiring you to reorganize your file system.

Spotlight has an operator, -label, that lets you search for files with a certain color label applied (e.g. Red, Green.) … (An aside: in my research it seems there's a strange mixing of Spotlight operators in the form -<operator> and <operator>:.)

Spotlight can't see renamed label in Lion
It's a little convoluted, but I've found a workaround. The renamed label is still not appearing with the -label operator autocomplete, but you can search for it another way.
