The hosts file, used to map hostnames to IP addresses. This tag is for questions relating to usage of this file, including reading and modifying its contents to change which IP a hostname is mapped to.

Lion "hosts" File Bug
You'll need to follow ioi's answer to the T to get this to work correctly. I think the real trick might be the extra line at the end of the file.
