As the last comment indicates, 2 years later, still no official solution by Apple.

My personal answer: invest the 10 Euros/USDs for the [Contexts][1] switcher, and just hope that it keeps working (it works nicely on Big Sur, but there is no active development any more, so buying it and hoping the current version keeps working is the best solution one has at this point).
