MacOs task switcher, transparency and dark mode?

I recently switched to "dark mode", and I like many aspects of it.

But the one thing that really gives me trouble: when using the task switcher in front of terminal window (or any other window that is mainly dark/black). Because when I type command-tab to raise the task switcher, the switcher "highlights" the "currently selected" app using a black frame. Black frames do not work to well when they are used transparently above black background.

I did then turn to the Accessibility settings to "reduce transparency" but that makes things actually worse.

Long story short: is there a way to somehow fix this problem?

( I installed hyperswitch as workaround. The UI part works much better there for me, but the actual logic of task switching is "wrong" when using multiple screens, so that renders it a no go for me )
