  • 2014 iMacs used a mass storage device Apple called a Fusion Drive. As I learned from my recent experience, when they go bad, they can go bad very quickly. IF it's your Fusion Drive, your options are limited (warning: don't even consider this one). Hopefully, you have a recent TimeMachine backup. The IFIXIT website may have some useful repair info.
