I have switched iPhone, but kept old iPhone. Now, I am using the old phone with a different number, so I updated the old phone with a new apple id and password. When I go to App Store to update the apps, the previous apple id appears and also asks for password. When I select "forgot password", it takes me to change both apple Id and password. I then enter the iPhone's current apple Id and change password. Now, that I have updated the App Store with current information, then it asks to Update one or all Apps, the previous apple Id., appears again and asks for password. How can I get rid of the previous or old apple Id? Otherwise, I can not Update the apps already on the iPhone.

  • The whole idea is to have one Apple ID, not one per device. Your phone number is completely irrelevant. You'd do better to abandon the new ID & reset the new phone to use the old one. It will be far less trouble in the long run.
