I've developed notification blindness to the little rectangles in the top right of my screen, and it's a real problem for remote work, where my coworkers can't drop by my desk to kidnap me into meetings when I miss the start time.

Apple gives me a lot of options to focus more, but my problem is that I'm too focused and I need it to interrupt me. Is there a calendar, application, notification setting, or script I can use to get stronger calendar reminders when meetings start? Ideally, my calendar would seize focus and go to the front of my screen whenever a meeting is starting.


  • My audio won't always be on
  • My phone won't always be at hand
  • I don't consistently notice standard alert or banner notifications

I use Google calendar for work, but I could sync with another calendar if it helps.
