I'm making a video viewer that converts a video to ASCII and then outputs it just like a video in the console. I've started working on this project on Linux and have already tested it on Windows. In both cases, the terminal didn't struggle and 60fps in terminal was doable. On macOS however, that's not the case. It feels like 10fps with struggles and stops. I tried using iTerm with the same result. I'm printing the ASCII matrix 60 times per second in this format matrix + "\r" which works perfectly fine on Windows and Linux. Then I tried it using clear and execute the command after every frame but it also looks awful.

How can I make the macOS Terminal smooth in this use case?
