After some major issues with my MacBook, I have to rescue my GarageBand and session projects.

I know it probably isn't as easy as simply copying the .band files, so I've copied the following folders to an external HDD.

Applications/GarageBand

Library/Application Support/GarageBand

Library/Application Support/Logic

Library/Audio/Apple Loops

Library/Audio/Impulse Responses

Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/

Library/Audio/Presets

Users/me/Music/GarageBand

In the event I have to factory reset my MacBook, will my GarageBand files/sessions be able to be copied back and function as normal?

macOS Sierra (10.12.6) and GarageBand (10.3.2), in case it's important.

Thanks in advance.

  • It should be just as easy as copying the band files, unless you're using audio loops in which case I believe you've already copied the necessary folders.
