I do quite a lot of work on AWS EC2 instances. Every time I need to ssh in one instance I have to copy the IP address from the AWS web console or my app, open iterm2, type the command, etc. and this is for each one of the N (often 8 to 16) remote machines.

Is it possible to launch a new iterm2 window with the IP addresses as parameters (they always change) so that I have immediately all the tabs ready and the connections established.

I have see the iterm

Is something like tmux or screen better suited?

It should be something like:

launch_iterm(IP1, IP2, IP3, ..)

This could be a bash script that I could easily launch from Ruby. I have seen the Python API for iterm2. Is that the only way to go?
