I'm working on organizing my files and I want to have a clone of my drives so I can deduplicate files. However, I will not be able to connect the drives to my laptop all the time. I know that it is possible to copy a directory without copying the file contents using gcp -a --attributes-only, but that does not copy the file size (every file is 0kb). I know that you can create a empty file with arbitrary file size using mkfile -n size file. How can I combine the two to copy a directory recursively without copying the file contents while retaining file size and other metadata?
