I recently upgraded my two Macs to Big Sur and use the first mac (mac1) to connect to the other via screen sharing (mac2)

Since upgrading, mac2 (the one that is sharing its screen) continuously locks the desktop while I am connected via screen sharing. I can unlock it (password or touch id), but it will lock again. Sometimes it works for a few minutes, other times it will immediately lock over and over right after unlocking. It's basically unusable at this point.

The laptop works fine when I am not sharing the screen and this problem never happened until I upgraded to Big Sur. Are there new policies or any configuration settings I need to be aware of regarding screen sharing?

I haven't found any specific set of steps to reproduce the problem other than it always happens.
