I've searched and tried everything suggested in other posts: getting ride of .plist files, rebooting, using the terminal with specific commands. Nothing worked. I can open the AppStore and see the apps that need to be updated. However, when I click on the update, after a few seconds the update button comes back on with no download. I have an iMac, using Mojave 10.14.6.

  • Try to create a new user on the machine and see if you can download with that user. – fsb Sep 23 '20 at 13:05

If in case you are the new iMac user, I hope you need to review your Account details (it takes some time for loading this page) where it will ask for the payment details and then confirm to proceed.
