I have a MacBook Pro running High Sierra, and an iPhone with iOS 13.

Sometimes I plug the iPhone into the MacBook's USB to charge it. Whenever I do this, I get two popup alerts.

One says "A new network interface has been detected" and gives me the option to open Network Preferences to set it up. The other says "A software update is require to connect to Barry's iPhone".

I can easily dismiss both of them, but is there any way to suppress them in the first place? I'm not interested in upgrading my OS at the current time, I'm happy with what I have (I think I have some applications that aren't compatible with the newer).
