I have an SMB mounting script that uses the open command to connect to a remote drive with the structure smb://location/root/mydir

When I connect to the mount if it asks me for a password then the location that mounts in volumes is /Volumes/root/ but if it remembers my password it mounts as /Volumes/mydir (this is the desired behavior).

Any idea why it is behaving this way and how I can get it to mount the correct location in /Volumes/

It is not an issue if I can pass the password through the open command but there are situations where user cannot or do not want to do this.
