I have a 1 year old 28" iMac. Worked perfectly until last week. Says it is connected to home wifi network but other than Mail being received, nothing else wifi related will work (safari, firefox, can't send emails, Steam, VPN, Spotify etc etc). Lots of other devices are still working fine on the network.

  • Have rebooted router and iMac a number of times.
  • One idea I read about was turning off Bluetooth but with the wireless mouse and keyboard the iMac stops me.
  • I've also tried connecting through a second paired network with a wifi booster but no good.
  • I've removed the network and readded.
  • Renewed DHCP lease.

Security: WPA2 Personal.

Can't think of anything else to try. All advice gratefully appreciated.

Can you open web pages with Safari? – jmh Aug 15 at 0:51
  • No. Pages time out on both safari and firefox. – knighta37 Aug 15 at 11:56
