I have a Numbers spreadsheet that I use to track my investments. One table includes each stock purchase (ticker, entry basis, entry date, number of shares, computed cost/share.

I want to select the earliest entry date from this table, for a specific stock, but I can't find a way to get the subset of the date column corresponding to that ticker. What I'm trying to use is some variation on this theme:

VLOOKUP(ABC,Basis::A:Entry Date,3)

The Basis table may or may not be sorted, so I don't want to rely on that. If the last argument to VLOOKUP is 1 or omitted, it returns the last match; otherwise it returns the first match.

How can I return ALL the matches, so I can pass it into a MINA function?
