My laptop is connected to my wifi at home, but nothing using an internet connection will load. To load a webpage I must turn wifi off and on again then reload or it won’t load , and sometimes it still doesn’t work.

My phone and all other devices at home work fine. My laptop works on other wifi connections.

This has happened previously and kept it up for about a week, directly after my house was connected to the NBN (I live in Australia) so I put it down to that, and it resolved itself in time.

If anyone could tell me what the problem is and how to fix it that would be great.

(I’ve included images of the ‘advanced’ settings for wifi on my computer in case that helps)

  • It could be your wifi card. Do you have the ability to plug into eithernet and see if that works? Is this only happening only at home, or is it happening everywhere? – Skyler Wiernik Jul 13 at 1:38
  • It’s only at home, and I don’t think I can plug into the Ethernet, if I can I certainly don’t know how – Lata Jul 13 at 2:07
  • What mac do you have? What version of macOS? – historystamp Jul 13 at 20:02
  • MacBook Air, macOS Sierra (version 10.12.6) – Lata Jul 13 at 23:50
