Had Windows installed with Bootcamp and for a couple of years it went fine, until I recently fired it up again and when it tried to update it went into a crash -> reset (only option that made it boot, it removed all the apps I had installed) -> auto-update -> crash again.
So I tried a clean install, but it failed. So I tried to wipe out the Windows partition and re-install Windows via Bootcamp. FAILED !!!
Followed the advice here: Bootcamp Error: The startup disk cannot be partitioned or restored to a single partition (not a duplicate) Still didn't work, so I kept trying to install it again and again, either via Bootcamp or by manually creating the partition and then booting from an USB mounted SD card.
And now I lost 300 GB.
They don't show up in diskutil list or when running the Disk Utility.
diskutil list
/dev/disk0 (internal):
#: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER
0: GUID_partition_scheme 121.3 GB disk0
1: EFI EFI 314.6 MB disk0s1
2: Apple_APFS Container disk2 121.0 GB disk0s2
/dev/disk1 (internal, physical):
#: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER
0: GUID_partition_scheme *2.0 TB disk1
1: EFI EFI 209.7 MB disk1s1
2: Apple_APFS Container disk2 1.7 TB disk1s2
/dev/disk2 (synthesized):
#: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER
0: APFS Container Scheme - +1.8 TB disk2
Physical Stores disk0s2, disk1s2
1: APFS Volume Macintosh HD 665.4 GB disk2s1
2: APFS Volume Preboot 43.2 MB disk2s2
3: APFS Volume Recovery 509.8 MB disk2s3
4: APFS Volume VM 2.1 GB disk2s4
The 1.7 TB should be 2.0 or 2.1 TB.
Is there anything I can do to fix this ?
Thanks.
