I am moving to a newer system so instead of setting my work environment from scratch I am trying to copy the home folder so I don't have to clone those large repos again, setting up git ssh keys and paths and IDE env etc. When I try to do so it throws up the error:

The operation can’t be completed because you don’t have permission to access “AISimpleProperty.db_appLock”.

I tried searching for the property but couldn't find anything.

  • Can you add some details on how you do this (compressing the home folder)? And maybe some background in the why (what do you intend to do with the compressed file afterwards), in case people have other ideas on how to accomplish that? – nohillside Jun 12 at 7:08

  • Thanks for the update, it still describes what exactly you do (how you copy your data to the new Mac), only how it fails. We love to help you but we can‘t look over your shoulder, so please explain in more detail which specific steps you are taking and where it fails. – nohillside Jun 12 at 12:25
