I made an USB bootable using transmac in windows but whenever i tried to select the bootable USB using Option + Power button, it loads half the bar and the screen shows prohibitory sign like the "phi" sign. Any suggestions, how to clear it out?

  • A circle with a diagonal bar through it? That's the indication that it tried to boot, but something went wrong very early in the process (before it can give better error indications). The first thing that comes to mind is: is the macOS version actually compatible with the computer you're trying to boot from it? – Gordon Davisson Jun 12 at 5:23
  • I think its compatible , I am using a Macbook Air Mid 2015. – a_nav123 Jun 12 at 5:26
  • What macOS version? Also, some recent versions of macOS may require a firmware update to run, even if the hardware is compatible. – Gordon Davisson Jun 12 at 5:30
  • I was using Mac OS Mojave before, i formatted it. – a_nav123 Jun 12 at 5:31
  • I just now read on some site that may be mojave needs an firmware update, so i am not sure which os to install now. – a_nav123 Jun 12 at 5:37
