I want to create an AppleScript that will open once I click a link in a browser.

For example, on Mac App Store links, you can click a button that will open the App Store on your computer. How would I do this, but instead of the App Store, it is an AppleScript?

  • Firstly, welcome to Ask Different! :) I hope you come to find this site has a lot to offer! In case you haven't already, it's worth taking the time to read the tour. All the best with your question! – Monomeeth Jun 9 at 23:55
  • The question asked in the title is entirely different than what is asked in the body of the post, meaning "It is possible to retrieve links from the web by AppleScript? and "I want to create a link on a webpage that when clicked will open up AppleScript." are not necessarily the same. Please edit your question to reflect exactly what it is you're trying to do. Also, AppleScript is a scripting language, so what is it that you actually want to open up? – user3439894 Jun 10 at 0:00

  • You might want to read this macosxautomation.com/applescript/linktrigger/index.html I think it addresses exactly what you're asking – wch1zpink Jun 10 at 1:22
  • I did look at that, it’s a bit outdated however I will try and give it another go, thanks! – Rohin12 Jun 11 at 2:20
