I am attempting to update my Mac to a newer version of Mojave. The update downloaded fine, but when it came to the installation, the update froze around halfway. I tried shutting down the computer and restarting the update, but instead of the normal login screen I was taken right back to the update screen, and the installation restarted and stopped at the same point.

I tried to start in safe mode but nothing happened, and command L does nothing. I decided to let it sit for around 20 hours and still no progress. After this, I restarted and reset the NVRAM, and the installation restarted as before, but this time it stopped at the end of the progress bar instead of the middle.

I let that sit overnight but it still had not finished. It has now been updating for 2 days and I have no way of accessing my Mac. I am wondering if there is any way at all to quit the installation. Thanks!

Edit: I have also not had a very reliable internet connection but I figured it wasn’t essential because it is an install rather than a download. If this would be an issue, I’m not sure how to fix it, as I can’t exactly manually connect myself to any WiFi network.
