I have a late 2016 MacBook Pro with macOS 10.13.2 High Sierra installed. I've had this problem from at least 3 months.

At first, the battery percentage wasn't dancing like crazy but today it happened. When I check my battery capacity with coconutBattery, it is decreasing normally but when I'm looking at macOS battery percentage it wiggles and doesn't decrease normally.

Sometimes, my MacBook crashes when I don't have anything open except Chrome and Discord.

  • Welcome to AskDifferent! So far this sounds more like a software problem. Nevertheless, try the common first step: SMC and NVRAM reset. They can affect power management. What is the battery life when power is disconnected? – n1000 May 17 at 8:49
  • n1000 well thanks for commenting, but I tried the SMC reset and it did nothing, all tough it fixed the problem for a day but the problem began the next day. – Diamond creeper May 17 at 19:51
  • Not exactly "nothing" ;) What happens if you disconnect power and what is the battery life? – n1000 May 18 at 9:18
