I manage many Macs running OS 10.14 using Apple Remote Desktop Admin.

Recently I have lost keyboard and mouse input during an ARD session to a remote machine and have not been able to regain it unless the remote machine was rebooted (usually via SSH).

This has happened three times, and in all three occasions it has been after I had installed new software via a standard installer (.pkg files).

At the completion of the installation I am no longer able to interact with the remote host using the keyboard or mouse.

Quitting and restarting the session from the same administrator machine, or another machine either via ARD Admin or Screen Sharing.app does not allow me to regain control - typically I am faced with a login screen I cannot interact with.

I have attempted to kickstart ARD Agent with no success. I have deactivated and reactivated Remote Management on the remote machine manually with no success. The only solution is to reboot the machine.

Local keyboard and mouse access to the remote machine is unaffected.

All of the machines in question here are running the latest OS updates, and Apple Remote Desktop (ARD) is the most recent version.

Has anyone else encountered this issue, and if so, do you have any other solution besides rebooting the remote machine?
