It detects the iPhone when it's connected by USB cable, but when I open up the phone's videos/music/photos in iTunes, it's all empty.

What could be the matter?

  • What version of macOS are you using? What version of iTunes? What version of iOS on your iPhone? If you connect your iPhone, let iTunes find it and then open Image Capture (Finder -> Applications -> Image Capture), does your iPhone appear on the left column as a source? If so, if you select it, do images and videos appear on the right column? – Pete Cooper Mar 23 at 17:59
  • in the latest versions of iOS and macOS, iTunes is not used to display photos if iCloud is turned on. Photos app shows a dedicated tab to show iPhone photos in th at case – ankiiiiiii Mar 24 at 19:46
