I want to transfer a single song from my Mac to my iPhone. I usually did this just by dragging the file from Finder onto the iPhone symbol within iTunes, but since I buyed a new MacBook this does not seem to work anymore. How is it done now?

I do not want to sync my iPhone, because this would delete all the music that I have from my iPhone.

Am I just too stupid or did Apple seriously remove the ability to move songs to your iPhone properly?

  • Add to the library or just save to files? apple.stackexchange.com/questions/224367/… hard to know which app you want to see / play the music on the iPhone. – bmike Mar 9 at 17:24
  • I want to add it to the music app. It was possible for me until I purchased a new MacBook a few weeks ago :((( – Leroy Od Mar 9 at 17:37
  • Yes - iTunes has changed quite a bit on the current OS. That's the reason why you can't move things the way you could on older iTunes. Let's see what people suggest. I'm all in on Apple Music, so I sync everything always, but I understand you might not want to recover the files to a computer and then put it all in the cloud. – bmike Mar 9 at 17:44
