I always see my son's non-shared PC in Finder way before my PC shows up, even after using command+K with my PC.s IP.

Is there a solution to have my PC show up at least at the same time, instead of waiting?

I have the Mac's shared folder (late 2011 with 8GB RAM, running High Sierra) mapped on Win 8.1 (16 GB RAM) and pinging both machines from the other reveals they are visible.

Thank you.

  • This seems to be more of an issue with your PC rather than the Mac given that it can easily find your son's PC. In other words, the Mac isn't going to be so discriminating as to easily find one and have immense difficulty with another. – Allan Mar 3 at 14:19
