As a standard user of a Mac Mini without access to the admin password, I would like to create a new admin account (without modifying the password of the existing admin account).

  • Single User mode does not work. The T2 security chip prevents single user mode
  • Recovery mode does not work. In order to access UNIX, I need an admin password, precisely what I do not have.

This sounds like intended behaviour. What would the idea be of having different types of users, if standard users could just make themselves an administrator user. Why haven't you got an administrator password? – jksoegaard Feb 26 at 11:23
