I have a large amount of email archived "On My Mac". I use a number of different email accounts: one for work, one for home, one for freelancing, etc. Senders don't always respect the boundaries I try to create.

Archiving "On My Mac" works well because I can put email from different accounts into the same folder. It's big shortfall is that when I'm out of the office I can't reference archived emails on my other devices as they're no longer in the cloud. I want to put my email back into the cloud. I'm not sure of the best way to do this?

Dragging archived email from an "On My Mac" folder back to an IMAP account's online storage doesn't work the way I'd like it to. Gmail for instance doesn't seem to want/be able to store emails sent to my work email so I end up with multiple "pictures of cats" folders for each separate email account. This doesn't work for me.

Has anyone encountered this before? Is there a good way to move locally archived email to cloud based storage so that I can reference old emails while out of the office?
