I have a big problem: my iCloud account on my computer is almost collapsed. I found that I can use the Terminal command rm to remove all the directories from CloudDocs but I am afraid to lose documents that are only on my local computer and not on iCloud.

I formally checked and it seems that all the files are on the remote iCloud, but if I check locally I see that a lot of them are still in the uploading phase.

I have 500 GB on iCloud and 91GB are not uploaded yet, even if I see them on the cloud. What I have to do?

  • Can you offload/backup the documents onto an USB stick or similar? Or, more generally, do you have a backup in place? – nohillside Feb 11 at 15:08
