My MacBook was working perfectly yesterday but this morning it doesn’t seem to be turning on. There is no sound of fans or hard drive kicking in and no flicker/backlight on the screen, I have tried pressing shift, ctrl, option & the power button but I get nothing, the only thing I do get is when the magnetic power cable is attached, the light goes from Amber to green for a few seconds when I release those 4 keys, then it goes back to amber.

Any suggestions anyone?

  • Take it in for service. If it won't turn on, there's not much you (or we) can do at this point. But, based on your symptoms, you have a logic board issue - possibly a failed power circuit or a bad SMC chip. – Allan Feb 9 at 13:31
