So, this is a very strange issue. One of the USB ports on my late 2013 13' Macbook Pro retina works when I connect it to the USB hub in my monitor through a male to male USB cable, but when I plug devices directly into it, they receive power but don't work. For example, I can plug a mouse into the integrated USB hub in my monitor, connect that to the affected USB port and move my cursor, but if I plug the mouse into that same USB port directly, the red laser comes on on the bottom of the mouse, but I can't move the cursor. What could possible be causing this?
