I have an external monitor for my iMac Pro. It is connected via an USB-C to Displayport adapter from Moshi. Unfortunately, it behaves not optimal:

  1. If the monitor is switched on while the iMac is booting, the monitor is properly detected as second monitor and works fine.
  2. If the monitor is switched off then, this is also properly detected by the iMac
  3. If the monitor is turned on again, the iMac does not recognize the monitor. I have to unplug and plug again the USB-C plug on the iMac. Then the external monitor is recognized again.

I have already reset SMC and NVRAM but that doesn't solve this problem.

Unplugging/Plugging the USB-C on the backside of the iMac is very uncomfortable. Is there a way to emulate that by software?
