I'm using a Macbook Pro 15" with Touch Bar MY 2016. Just got today 2 brand new Lenovo P32U, each one 32"4K - one of the first ever with 2 USB-C Thunderbolt 3 so allowing daisy chain configuration. First setup tested show me monitor are working fine if connected each one directly to the Macbook with its USB-C cable, while trying to daisy chain them result in one monitor working (the first directly connected to the Mac) and the other totally not even getting the wake up signal or anything, like no input. If I'm not wrong my Macbook should allow 2 4K daisy chain - so using one only USB-C port. Not possible, I know, with 5K, but with 4K I was almost sure it was/is possible. Any idea guys? Besides, confirmed, the monitor does NOT charge the macbook, a bit disappointing but not too much surprising. I was curious to check if, by connecting two, they were charging together the mac... but no.

Thanks a lot for your notes! Pavo

  • Pretty sure even the latest MBPs (technically MacOS) still do not support Display Port 1.2/MST/Daisy Chaining. Similar question – ernie Oct 12 '18 at 15:52
