So, I'm doing some tinkering with editing podcasts before syncing to my phone.

iTunes downloads the podcasts, then I grab them from finder and make edits to the audio. Afterwards, I can preview the files & hear my changes (using 'Quick Look' or the Quicktime app). However, after connecting my phone and initiating a sync, the podcast files on my phone appear to have been re-downladed via the RSS URL, and my edits are obviously not there.

My question

Is there a way to force iTunes to push the actual files to iOS and maintain playback sync?

I'm fairly sure this is a "feature not a bug"™️, because iTunes settings specifically say "Sync podcast subscriptions and settings."... it says nothing about the actual files.
