This is an attempt to write a canonical QA for this, as per the meta post: Where is the list of canonical questions stored for Ask Different?

How do I jailbreak an iPhone or iPad(to install Cydia or Sileo) on:

  • iOS/iPadOS 13
  • iOS 12
  • iOS 11
  • iOS 10
  • iOS 9
  • iOS 8
  • When writing canonical Q/A's it's helpful to put in some terms and descriptors of what people could be possibly be searching for. For example... Jailbreak a what? iPhone, iPad, Watch, TV? Write the question as if someone was actually asking the question. – Allan Sep 13 '18 at 19:43
  • Have a look at how I write them: apple.stackexchange.com/questions/328639/… I'm not saying to follow it verbatim, but more detail in the question helps with the search-ability (Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo) of it. – Allan Sep 14 '18 at 0:33
  • @Allan Thanks, does this fix it? – abc Sep 14 '18 at 0:51

App-based jailbreaks: You will have to sideload the .ipa with Cydia Impactor or download it from ignition.fun(visit this website on your iOS device and go into the jailbreaks section). You will then need to "trust" the profile, then open up the app on your iOS device and click jailbreak.

Web-based jailbreaks: You open up the website on your iOS device and click jailbreak.

Computer-based jailbreaks: You download the jailbreak app to your computer. Connect your iOS device and click jailbreak on your computer(make sure your device is trusted via iTunes first).

No substrate/substitute jailbreaks: These jailbreaks do not support tweaks or Cydia and only give you root access. You may be able to use apps like Filza or NewTerm 2. There are currently no jailbreaks like this.

If any of the links are broken try using the Wayback Machine.

Important: (for all iOS 11 and higher jailbreaks) Make sure to delete any OTA updates from storage in settings and install the tvOS Beta profile to prevent accidental updates(install this on iOS, not on AppleTV) before jailbreaking. tvOS Beta profile (this is a direct link to the profile, open this link on your iOS device). Make sure to reboot after installing the profile.

There is currently no stable jailbreak for 13.3.1 or higher
