I replaced an iMac 2009 HDD with an SSD, and restored from a Time Machine backup. All went well - I log in as before and see my files. But now I see iCloud is syncing - uploading and downloading many Gb. It will take weeks on my slow internet. I think this is an unnecessary sync. I guess it happens iCloud somehow uses the drive as part of the file version ID, so it doesn't see that the versions on the new SSD are the same as the versions on old HDD. How can I tell iCloud not to sync?
