I have set my Mac menu bar to auto hide and show. Normally it is hidden, but when I move my cursor to the top of the screen, it becomes visible and I can click the icons within it.

Now I would like to drag a file to one of the icons (e.g., drag a screenshot to an annotation app that’s shown in the menu bar). When I drag the file and move my cursor to the top of the screen, the menu does not become visible.

It seems that the fact that I am dragging a file with my cursor, prevents the menu bar from showing. As there are many useful apps that can live in the menubar and take a file as input, I find this pretty annoying.

Is there another method of showing the menu bar while dragging a file?
