enter image description here if i create a time machine backup, then install Debian/Ubuntu over the macOS partition -- or for example, destroy the OS ($ sudo rm -rf /), can i immediately hop into recovery mode, plug in the time machine USB and restore everything and get macOS back?

i think the answer is yes. sorry for the lame question. i just want to be sure before i go crazy partitioning the SSD.
