I always clean install new macOS release to make sure my machine (MacBook Air 13-inch, Early 2015) stay fresh and fast. However, for the past 2 years I still couldn't find the best way to backup and restore Apache configuration on my machine.

I need to start all over again whenever I made the clean install. FYI, I use homebrew only for PHP. Apache is the one that shipped in macOS High Sierra 10.13.3. Also, each time I did the clean install I will use the same username for consistency.

I've try with Time Machine but seem it doesn't restore as per my initial Apache configuration. I've also read that most of the suggestion is to use homebrew version, however it doesn't works too when restoring from Time Machine.

  • Your Apache configuration is the httpd.conf. Don't you back this up once you have it configured? – Allan Feb 24 '18 at 9:58
